Telangana Bets Heavily on AI driven Gaming and Animation Industry

The state government is gearing up to roll out version 2.0 of its Animation, visual effects, gaming and comics (AVGC) policy by Jan 2025, said IT & Industries minister D Sridhar Babu last week. He was speaking at the recently concluded Indian Gaming Developers Conference in Hyderabad.

According to him, today India offers $1.2 billion AVGC market. The objective of the department is to spur research and innovation, attract more AVGC players and venture capital firms and create the right ecosystem for small gaming firms and startup to set up shop in Telangana.

The state government is also in talks with a number of AVGC companies to start a course at the recently launched Youth India Skills University.
